The Federal Institute of Science and Technology (FISAT) is a self-financing private engineering college established and promoted by the Federal Bank Officers' Association Educational Society (FBOAES). Federal Institute of Science and Technology (FISAT) hold a unique position in South India's Professional Education Sector. FISAT has been designed and developed to become a "Centre of Excellence" in professional education, with the motto "Focus on Excellence". Established in 2002, the college has carved a niche for itself, as evidenced by its students' outstanding performance in academics, placements, and extra-curricular and co-curricular activities. FISAT has launched an ambitious plan to improve the quality and value of education while also developing high-quality individuals. The institution is accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with an 'A' grade. The National Board of Accreditation (NBA) has accredited five B.Tech programmes. The Department of Science and Humanities is one of the foremost departments to be incepted in the college, in 2002. The department pertains to teaching Science and Humanities subjects for all branches of engineering. Mathematics is being taught for all UG, PG and Ph D programs. The department is a research center under the APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University. The department has organized International, National and State level Seminars and Webinars periodically since its inception. Apart from the seminars organized at various levels, it has organized a National conference in 2007 and an International conference in 2016. It has always motivated the engineering students in learning mathematics by the activities organized by Maths Club and it regularly organizes inter-collegiate as well as intra-collegiate quiz competitions. The Department of Science and Humanities has access to all streams of students irrespective of their subject specialization. It helps them to inculcate the right attitude towards Mathematics.
